Dialogic Boosts Computer Telephony Education for Reseller Community

PARSIPPANY, NJ
Dialogic, an Intel company and the global leader in open computer telephony (CT), today announced additional educational opportunities for its existing network of resellers, as well as opportunities for resellers new to CT interested in breaking into the expanding CT market. In addition to actively supporting Internet-based CT curriculum and certification training courses, Dialogic is working closely with its authorized distributors, as well as reseller consortiums and partners on educating and training on how to develop, market and sell solutions for the converging communications marketplace.

"Training and education are critical to the adoption of CT by the traditional data value added reseller (VAR) market, as well as providing the necessary fundamentals telecom resellers need to begin working with open computerized telephone systems," said Gary Marks, vice president, Corporate Marketing at Dialogic. "By providing greater accessibility to computer telephony education and certification on critical CT products, Dialogic is helping the industry meet a growing need for skilled engineers. The time has never been better to embrace CT."

Dialogic, together with various organizations, is currently supporting the following initiatives to learn and get certified in computer telephony engineering:

Web-Based Training & Certification
Dialogic Educational Services is endorsing the online CT reseller training program offered by CyberStateU.com and its partner, the CT Institute. This interactive, Web-based curriculum will provide anytime, anywhere computer telephony courses at significant cost and time savings. CyberState's online training is also endorsed by the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association (MMTA), of which Dialogic is a member.

Resellers with multiple locations, particularly global companies, will benefit by using the courseware to provide consistent content regardless of where employees are based. CyberState is offering Dialogic Reseller Program members a discount on the Computer Telephony Engineer (CTE) certification course. Individuals and companies who are interested in enhancing their portfolios of products and services offerings should visit http://www.dialogic.com or http://www.CyberStateU.com.

Dialogic CT Educational Services offers a complete curriculum of CT training classes designed to educate both computer and telecommunications resellers on the installation, configuration and development of CT systems. Dialogic also offers resellers the opportunity to take and pass the Web-based CT Professional Certification Exam. CT Professional Certification gives resellers an edge by assuring their customers that they have the expertise to install and support more complex CT solutions. Dialogic views CyberState's Web-delivered CTI curriculum as a viable stepping-stone towards passing the Dialogic CT Professional Certification exam, as well as a foundation for training on more complex Dialogic technologies such as CT MediaTM or CT ConnectTM.

"Web-based training over corporate Intranets or the Internet affords training to a wider audience – making it easier for resellers to get the training they need cost effectively and at a pace that is appropriate for them," Richard Frye, of Premier Partners, Inc., a reseller located Mt. Olive, NJ. "This also assists them in overcoming the obstacles of travel for introductory training, and allows them to access training around their own busy schedules."

Educational Forums & Seminars
In a major push to introduce the reseller community to the importance and viability of embracing CT, Dialogic is actively working with reseller consortiums such as the ASCII Group and the CT Pioneers by participating with them at educational seminars. Dialogic also plans to participate at key reseller educational events such as VARVision, and CMP's Reseller Xchange conferences. Dialogic has also established strong partnerships with key distributors to set up CT training locations, and is working closely with publishers such as CMP to promote the need for a better understanding by resellers of the benefits of adopting the technology.

Roadshows
Dialogic is also currently participating in educational roadshows with various customers where CT products and technology are demonstrated and simplified.

Beginning in the first quarter of 2000, the Alliance Roadshow will be educating resellers on how to get started in the CT industry, an overview of ISV solutions available for resellers to install today. For more information, please see http://www.alliancesystems.com. The Advanced Technologies roadshow, being jointly hosted by Parity Software and Dialogic, offers participants information on leading edge technologies such as IP Telephony using DM3TM IPLink TM, ATM, and CT Media, and demonstrate how easy it is to get started with these new technologies using tools by Parity Software. For more information, please visit the Dialogic Web site, or http://www.parity.com.
