CT Institute and Artisoft Team Up
to Offer Industry-Leading Interactive Voice Response Skills Training

Artisoft's Visual Voice Toolkit To Be Offered in Popular
Online Engineer Certification Courses

LAFAYETTE, CALIF.
The CT Institute today announced that it has chosen Artisoft's Visual Voice®, the industry's most flexible telephony development toolkit, as part of its Computer Telephony Engineer (CTE) student certification kit. Using Visual Voice®, participants in the CTE courses will now have access to a hands-on practice lab for interactive voice response (IVR) skills training.

CT Institute's curriculum was developed to certify engineers in product and vendor-independent computer telephony integration (voice and data convergence) technical training. In addition to the fundamental CTE voice networking, data networking and computer telephony integration core courses, the CT Institute also provides solutions courseware to address the most popular convergence solutions, including IVR, call center and unified messaging.

Using Artisoft's award-winning Visual Voice toolkit, CTE students will have the ability to create scaleable, enterprise-wide telephony applications that span multiple computers over Local Area Networks (LANs), Intranets, and the Internet.

"CT Institute is pleased to offer Artisoft's Visual Voice telephony toolkit as part of our IVR course materials," said Jim Phillips, Director of Curriculum Architecture for CT Institute. "The software allows students to build a fully functional IVR system in their multimedia PCs. This keeps the labs focused on the general IVR issues without having to learn product-specific configurations," he added.

Visual Voice is a collection of ActiveX components and graphical utilities that allow developers to quickly build sophisticated Windows-based telephony applications. Harnessing the power of Visual Voice, developers can build voice mail, IVR, banking, employee benefits, and other telephone inquiry applications that allow access to databases from a touch-tone phone. Visual Voice applications can be extended to include text-to-speech, voice recognition, multi-party conferencing, and multi-line faxing.

"We are pleased that CT Institute has selected Visual Voice to be a vital part of its IVR curriculum," said Greg Gies, Artisoft Visual Voice product manager. "The CTE courses are key to providing technicians with the required expertise that will allow them to grow this dynamic convergence market. Given its usage by over 8,000 developers, Visual Voice is a natural and solid addition to the CTE curriculum."
