CyberStateU.com Partners with Microsoft to Offer Integrated eLearning
Lafayette, CA
CyberStateU.com, an interactive online certification and e-learning company, today announced it will partner with Microsoft to offer its eLearning content (self-paced and online training on Microsoft products) which will provide an integrated business model for more scaleable and flexible delivery of online certification and distance learning programs.
Available in January 2001, CyberStateU.com will offer 21 individual courses that will cover the MCSE and MCSD training tracks. Microsofts eLearning content will contain courses developed independently by Training and Certification and Microsoft Press.
These Microsoft courses offered through CyberStateU.com will be in the Learning Resource interchange (LRN), Microsofts implementation of the IMS specification, which allows CyberStateU.com to easily create and interchange learning content in an industry standard format. The partnership is the first step in moving toward one solution that can be adjusted for a customer's online learning needs and will be flexible for multiple styles of training and education.
The development of LRN enables CyberStateU.com to deliver more personalized e-learning solutions. Microsofts new industry initiative also creates more flexibility in how e-learning content is assembled. CyberStateU.com will be able to integrate any third-party online learning content that complies with the IMS in order to deliver customized or more comprehensive learning solutions. Current course offerings cover Microsoft solutions for IT professionals, developers, and desktop users.
"As one of the first web-based IT certification providers, CyberStateU has earned a reputation for providing high quality online education, and we are very pleased to have CyberStateU as a partner providing Microsoft's eLearning content through their Synergy Learning System," said Marsha Kabakov, Director of Training Channels and Business Development at Microsoft.
"We are happy to be one of the few companies chosen by Microsoft, for its Learning Resource iNterchange project," said Ron Abelmann, CyberStateU.com President and CEO. "This integrated solution is a win for CyberStateU.com students because it gives us the foundation to offer even more comprehensive and targeted training to help them better prepare for professional Microsoft certifications."
