Multimedia Telecommunications Association Adopts CT Institute's CTE Certification and Training

LAFAYETTE, CALIF.
The MultiMedia Telecommunications Association (MMTA) today announced an alliance with the CT Institute, developers of vendor independent CT industry certification programs. MMTA is adopting CT Institute’s Computer Telephony Engineer (CTE) SM certification as the industry’s premier advanced designation for systems engineering professionals and a companion to MMTA’s other more basic convergence technologies certification programs.

CyberStateU.com (CSU), the first company to offer Web-based technical training for network engineers, will deliver the training via its unique Synergy Learning System™. Students will be able to complete their training in preparation for the certification exams anytime, anyplace from any web-enabled personal computer.

"We are very pleased to extend our recommendation of this advanced certification training to CTI companies and CT engineers. The MMTA believes education is critical to the growth of CTI. It’s through education that the channel’s understanding of CTI applications will increase, and the CTI market will flourish. CT Institute’s CTE is an advanced certification and will be an excellent companion to our other more basic certifications," said Mary Bradshaw, MMTA President.

"Convergence technology is very complex, and it is imperative that companies invest in education and training to stay competitive. CyberStateU.com, where students will receive their CTE training, offers a web-based training solution that is an ideal way for companies to ensure employees receive consistent, best-of-class training from anywhere in the world," said Fred Yentz, IBM manager of embedded solutions and chairman of education for the MMTA. "Likewise, the CTE certification enables companies to ensure their employees have a mastery of the computer telephony skills necessary to support the solutions they sell."

David James Clarke, IV, founder and president of CT Institute, added

"Given the MMTA’s highly regarded position in our industry, we are very excited about their validation of the CTE certification as an industry standard. Through our alliance with the MMTA, we will make our vendor independent education universally available to MMTA members."
