• Event Handling, Listener Classes and Methods
• The File Class Objective Description
• Character Sets and Codes
• The InputStreamReder and OutputStreamWriter Classes
• The FilterInputStream and FilterOutputStream Classes
• The FileInputStream, the FileOutputStream

PREREQUISITES:

System Requirements: (to access CyberStateU.com’s virtual classroom and Practice Lab)

• IBM compatible computer running Windows95/98 (recommended), or Windows NT 4.0, 16 MB RAM, 20 MB free, uncompressed, hard drive space, mouse, CD-ROM drive, printer (optional), and SoundBlaster compatible card (optional)
• A direct (PPP or SLIP) Internet account (direct or 28.8k+ dial-up connection)
• A supported browser (current release of Netscape Navigator [recommended] or MS Internet Explorer)

Skills Requirements:

• Basic familiarity with Java
• Working knowledge of your operating system (Windows95, NT 4.0) including performing such tasks as locating files on your hard drive, installing application software, creating directories, as well as copying and moving files
• Working knowledge of either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser including navigation and downloading files from the Internet onto your PC
